Addiction, addiction, addiction

So let's get straight to the point, yep, I changed my layout again. I realised that the Blogger layouts are damn boring so I hunted down a new one from the net. It's so comel so more! And it goes with my style of blogging! So anyways, the reason I haven't posted for a few days is because my internet has been down for about 10 days now and I still do not have access to the net at home, so currently I'm blogging from my cousin's house! The 10 days (and still counting, mind you) of not having any internet access at home is freaking killing me! I realised that ever since I finished A-Levels, the internet has been my constant companion so not having any access what-so-ever to the internet made me so depressed. I think I'm addicted to the net. Dammit. That's damn pathetic, right? Everyone else are addicted to ciggies or coffee or chocolates, but noooooo, I just HAD to be addicted to the freaking internet. Like my mum, she's addicted to coffee. I think she drinks about 20 cups a day. No kidding. But my addiction to the internet is so bad that I even dreamt one night about using the internet.

Oh yeah, remember my sneezing fit? It evolved into a full-blown flu on Monday so I was sick and had to stay in bed for two whole days. Dah la I was suppose to go for a wedding kat Shangri La. Monday night, while lying in my bed thinking about the wedding that I was supposed to go to, my maid brought in some fried rice for me. I tried eating it, but God, I could've been eating sawdust for all I know. Couldn't taste anything. So I asked my siblings about the rice to see if it was as tasteless to them as it is to me but noooooooo, they said that it was good. I knew it was spicy, though, because my tongue was all tingling, but I could not taste anything. So well, that kinda sucked.

I finally saw Pirates 2 today! It was good la....but I was hoping for something more. Jack Sparrow is damn funny....absolutely love him to the max!!!!!!!Pirates was kinda like a family outing for us because my family, my uncle's family and my grandparents at the MBO Cineplex in Ampang to watch the movie. There were 15 of us and the best thing about the cinema was that because it's a pretty unknown place relative to KLCC, we could choose our seats and it was quite funny trying to find nice seats for 15 people. After that we went to eat at this Indonesian restaurant called Wang Solo near the cinema. In the restaurant, we saw this poster about a guy and his wives. Yep, wives. On the poster it said, "banyak istri, banyak rezeki" and we were arguing whether that fella in the poster was posing with his five wives or if he was posing with his four wives and his kid. Talk about promoting poligamy. I seriously do not wish to share my husband with one other woman, let alone three. Over my dead body. He wants to have another wife, I want everything. All of the money, all of the harta. I guess they think a bit differently in Indonesia kot. Dunno la.

I'm going back later to my house and somehow I don't think I can use the internet at home, so if it takes like, a month, to update my blog, please forgive me. I hope my Streamyx will be back online soon. Bloody Streamyx. Apparently I'm not the only one complaining about stupid Streamyx.

Okie, ciao peeps.

Dreams....*sigh*

My sneezing fits are so bad these past few days that if I was given a dollar everytime I sneeze, I would be able to go shopping and buy a few new tops for myself! Ergh. Too bad that's not gonna happen. *sniffs*

Last Saturday, I went to Kinokuniya in KLCC after God knows how long. I miss the place! I love Kinokuniya and other bookstores in general. I could just sit there for hours and hours browsing through the books. So anyways, I was walking through the aisles and I came across the Travel section and I found some books on the best places to go while you're in Malaysia. I checked out the books and I thought to myself, "I haven't gone to lots of the places in Malaysia and I call myself a Malaysian". So I listed down ten places that I would like to go to
if when I have a lot of money to spend on travelling (better start thinking optimistically!):

1. Pulau Langkawi

2. Pulau Tioman

3. Pulau Pangkor

4. Pulau Redang

5. Taman Negara

6. Tasik Chini

7. Cherating (Club Med!!!!!!!)

8. Penang (eat, eat and eat some more!)

9. Cameron Highlands

And last but certainly not least, one of my favourite places in the world, Genting Highlands!!!:

As much as I would love to take credit for these beautiful pictures of these beautiful places, all of these pictures (except for the Pangkor shot!) do not belong to me! But they are gorgeous, aren't they? And me with nary a cent on me right now (Okay, I'm exaggerating) can't possibly go to these beautiful places in the nearest future. *sighs* But it doesn't hurt to dream, right?

Oh yeah, speaking of dreams, have you ever dreamt about somebody that you know but are not close to? Someone like a celebrity or an acquintance or something like that that when you wake up from the dream, you'll be like, "Why was that person in my dream? I don't even know them well"? A few days ago, I had that sort of dream. I dreamt about a celebrity (not telling who it is, though, I don't wanna risk humiliating myself on cyberspace!) and when I told Anis about it, she was like, "takde orang lain ke? Did you curi someone else's dream?" and I was like, "you think I want to dream about him, is it? pleaseee...I don't even like him". I'm not the type that obsesses over celebrities so the dream was a bit weird. That same night, I also dreamt I had twins! Yep, even I don't know what's going on with my mind...I could still remember the dream so I googled "dream interpretation twins" yesterday and here's what it said about my dream:

To see twins in your dream, signifies ambivalence, dualities and opposites. It also represents security in business, faithfulness, and contentment with life. It may also mean that you are either in harmony with or in conflict between ideas and decisions.

Although I like what they said about security in business and all those stuff, I think the "conflict between ideas and decisions" sounds more like me. I don't think I'm actually very content with my life now because I'm becoming more and more restless with every day that goes by. But dreams are just dreams, y'know....they can't predict the future....sometimes dreams just show you what you subconsciously want. Well, whatever it is, I know I really want a holiday! Not as in a sit-at-home-and-do-nothing holiday but more of a travel-to-places-and-go-sightseeing holiday! Maybe I should go and kacau Ayah Su in PD...hmmmmm....or maybe save some money for me to go to Genting.......hmmmmmmm..........................my dear cousin, do you want to join me for a holiday sometime soon?

Ramblings....God, I don't know what titles to put for my posts

Last week, everyone was talking about Zizou's now infamous headbutt on Marco Materazzi. Heck, if you take a look at the YouTube site, Zizou's headbutt clips are the most viewed last week...mind you, I said CLIPS. Yep, everyone will definitely remember Zizou. That moment will definitely go down in football history.

This week, however, everyone will surely be talking about Miss Siti's impending wedding to Datuk K. Confirm front page esok. I mean, she's the woman that every man wants to be with and almost every woman wants to be. The wedding is already dubbed "Wedding Of The Year" and I know some stuff about the wedding that some people are not supposed to know. Ngeh ngeh. I even know how much the cost is for the food at the wedding.

My dad's patient just happen to be the CEO of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre so the guy told my dad some dirt on the wedding! And I found out quite a lot about the wedding from my dad....not too sure I can type it down, though...I might get sued. Seriously. But I can tell you that the King (Agong) is going to grace the ceremony at the convention centre. Why am I not surprised? And my dad said that one of the TV stations would be broadcasting the wedding live! Talk about a lavish affair...this is like the biggest event since...erm, since the World Cup! Haha!

Siti's going to get engaged and married simultaneously...how that works also I don't know. Can you just imagine if I did that? Imagine if I had this phone conversation with my friend on my big day...

Me: Hey! Guess what? I just got engaged!!!!!!!
Friend: Oh wow!!! Congrats!!!! I'm so happy for you!
Me: Thanks! Oh, I have to go now! I'm getting married in like, 5 seconds!
Friend: ....

Yep, most people would think I'm crazy to get engaged and married on the same day. But celebrities can get away with everything. Hmphhh. I wonder how many hearts are broken by Siti's announcement.

Oh yeah, I went to Sunway last week to check out the courses but my dad still wants me to wait for Monash, so I am jobless right now and with no education (that sounds so wrong). Grrr. And to top it off, I am sneezing constantly and I think I'm getting sick!!!!! Tak suka la!!!!!!!!!!

Goodbye World Cup

France lost to Italy in the finals.......

I stayed up until 5 to watch the freaking match....I have never, ever, ever stayed up until 5 to watch anything. And the one time I did decide to stay up and watch something, I was left heartbroken. Boo-hoo. I know, I know....damn drama, right? I thought France was gonna win, but when Barthez couldn't save any of the penalties, I was just like ........it wasn't that I wanted France to win, but it was more that I wanted Italy to lose....because of the Azzuris two of my favourite teams (Germany & Australia) got booted out....come to think of it, the australia-Italy match was the first match that I wanted the underdogs to win so badly that when they lost because of the penalty, I cried my eyes out. Hmmm. Italy is definitely not on my favourite list right now. After the final match, I was like, WHY Zizou?????? Whyyyyyy?????? and also Why Barthez???????? Why couldn't you save any of the shots????? But what's done is done.....can't change the facts any more.... I cried myself to sleep seeing France lost. My cousin, too. We're damn girls. I can't believe I have to wait another four years for the next World Cup................

Right now I still have to go search for a uni.....damn lazy!!!!!!!!!! I just realised that if I were to go to Sunway, I will be driving 70 km a day!!!!!!! No kidding!!!!!!!!!! That's just amazing....it means that if I have a five-day week, I'll be driving about 350 km a week.....whoa........that's damn freaky.................

Oh yeah, the Pussycat Dolls are coming in 2 weeks time! I am stunned that they are actually allowed to enter the country....I mean, they are the Pussycat Dolls!!! I guess it's the closest that Malaysia will get to a strip show...I hope Reiza will give Anis tickets!!! Then I can go and watch for free! I'm a shameless cheapskate....

I think I might go and watch Pirates tomorrow....let's see if the 2nd one is as nice as the first one...I can't wait to see Jack Sparrow.....the wackiest pirate I've ever seen...not that I've seen many...

And oh yeah, for your viewing pleasure, a funny picture of Cristiano Ronaldo doing who-knows-what to Wayne Rooney:

tsk, tsk, tsk...I didn't even know that it was legal to do that on the pitch....cheeky boys....

Rude much?

I was reading the July edition of Reader's Digest and there was this article called "How Polite Are We?" and it was quite interesting because they based our politeness on how we respond to these three tests:

1) Drop a folder full of papers in busy locations
2) Walk into buildings behind people to see if they would hold the door open for others behind them
3)Bought small items from shops to see if the sale assistant says "thank you"

They did this 20 times in each major city in a country and well, surprise, surprise, our beloved KL ranks in the bottom three....shows how polite we are... Good thing there were no tests based on driving on the roads then....KL would be right there at the bottom...

These tests made me realise how bloody impolite we all can be sometimes....I always hold doors open for other people....it's a habit that I picked up when I was in college...but I do realise that a lot of people can't be bothered to do that...some are afraid that they'll look stupid while holding the door, or some are just rushing, rushing, rushing....no time to turn back. I guess I might help people when they drop a folder full of papers...it's the right thing to do, kan? And I know that when I'm behind a counter, I'll definitely say thank you to all the people that has bought stuff from my shop.

You know what is so funny about these tests? The fact that some people are like, "no, no, no...Malaysians are very polite, yada, yada, yada...Malaysians are not rude. What nonsense are you talking about?" I mean, it's damn ironic right when the government wants to promote the country as a country with "polite" people and most of us turn out to be anything but? People would just literally let a door slam into another person's face. If that's not rude, I don't know what is. The thing is, this isn't the first time Malaysia has been labelled as rude and unfriendly. The only time Malaysians are polite and friendly is when there are tourists around. I mean, have you ever heard a Malaysian say something like this, "Oh, I love my country because the people here are so warm and friendly"....NOOOOOOOOOOOOO....Malaysians are the world's worst hippoconcretes (big, stubborn hipocrites) because we really don't practice what we preach. Or else you'll be seeing all the MPs taking public transportations instead of worrying about not getting a new Merc. Or those shop assistants who only help those who screams money and ignore others. Hell, even New Yorkers are more considerate than Malaysians...actually, New York is one of the most polite cities, according to that survey. Wow. That's certainly nice to know. Insolent KLites.

Oh by the way, I had just came to the conclusion that I suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder *gasps*. Not all the time. It just happens sometimes when I want to park my car...no, actually, it happens everytime I want to park my car. Everytime I park my car, I'll be like going in and out of the box a few times trying to park my car properly. The first thing I'll ask whoever's sitting next to me in the car would be, "am I in my box?" and usually they'll go, "yessssssssssssssssssssssss.....you are in your box". My cousin once said, "alia, you just can't think outside the box". Yeah, I can't think outside the box when it comes to parking my car. After parking my car, I'll be looking at it to see if it's straight....if not I'll be itching to go back into the car and to straighten the car. My cousins and my siblings are all fed up with this behaviour of mine. I always worry that someone might just scratch my car if I leave it in its senget position. Yep, I sound a bit obsessed with parking my car perfectly...that's not so good...so yeah, I kinda realise that I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive when it comes to parking my car.

I'm damn tired....................I want to sleep now. Good nite!

a-levels ball, world cup, shopping and driving around KL...

Germany lost to Italy 2- Nil....I'm soooooo sad..........................................:( I wanted Germany to at least go through to the finals...but what to do....they have never won against Italy. Ever. Ever. And the World Cup curses continues....England lost out on penalties again, Brazil couldn't win the Cup in Europe again and Germany lost to Italy again. Boo-hoo. Let's hope France wins the World Cup this time around....I'm still wondering, should I watch the final match? I mean, it's on at 2 in the morning!!!!!!!!!! I am just gonna sleep in front of the tv :/ but i wanna watch the finals!!!!!!!!!! Dilemma, dilemma....

I had a busy, busy, busy week and finally I have a breather today...

The A-levels ball last week was quite interesting...my friends took so many pictures that I was seeing stars the whole night...hehehehe....felt like a star that night! I look damn weird in the pics, though and Melvyn kept pestering me to smile for the pics.

He said, "why you never smile in pictures ah, woman? look natural la"
and I was like, "I cannot smile. My smile's always damn crooked"

The ball was supposed to start at 7.45...but you know la kan Malaysian punya timing, so the ball started one whole hour late!!!! And do you know how it started? They had fire-eaters performing that night and before they came up on stage, they screamed at the top of their lungs! What a way to get our attention...I was stupefied for a second, not knowing where the sound was coming from. I seriously thought someone was getting robbed or something. Tengok-tengok the fire eaters keluar. Ceh, buat orang takut je. After their very (literally) hot performance, it was time for Mr.Jahn and Dipesh to give their speech. Everyone at our table were like "we're hungry, cepat la finish up your speech". After the speeches were over and done with, everyone went straight to the buffet table...God, I ate so much that night!!!!!!!!!! there were some performances that night but we just couldn't be bothered because everyone was talking among themselves and taking loads and loads of pictures. I was damn pissed with the lucky draw because I didn't win anything! 2 girls got brand new Motorola RAZR phones!!!!!!! :(:( At 12.30 am, me, alan, terrence, rachel soh and jun decided to go up to the swimming pool to take some pictures....the swimming pool was just breath-taking!!! It's one of the nicest swimming pool I've ever seen...too bad we couldn't dip our aching feet in the pool because the manager was giving us the evil look while we were playing around. We took bunches of pictures while we were there and it was so much fun! At 1.30 I went back home and slept in until 8.30...yep, so much for sleeping in...I woke up damn early that morning.

Talking about Friday, Anis and I went to check out the cinema in Galaxy Ampang. It's actually quite nice...parking's free there. We got there at 3 o'clock and since it's a kinda private cinema not like GSC or TGV, there were some movies that were not shown at the cinema. We ended up buying tckets for RV and we were shocked when there were only like 2 other people in the cinema other than us. It was fun!!!!!!! I'll definitely go back to the cinema again! After that we went to makan...we were supposed to go for ice-cream at Lecka-Lecka in BB but tak jadi because we were all damn penat...ended up watching High School Musical that my cousin had downloaded. She's nuts about Zac Efron...and she's older than me....who would have thought. Haha, what a way to spend a Friday night.

On Saturday I went out with Ine...I've not since her since April....so we went out to Ampang Point...then we went to Lecka-Lecka at the Ampang Petronas and we went to Great Eastern Mall. Didn't do much....we just hung out. After that I sent her back to her college near Bangsar there. It was fun though hanging out with her cause we haven't done that in a long time. She's one of my first friends back in secondary school and the fact that we're the same age (all the people in our batch are one year older than us) makes us even closer. So yeah, last Saturday was nice.

On Sunday I had lunch at my grandma's house. We were having nasi dagang, and I was helping her since 8 in the morning. Around 1 o'clock, Anis came up to me and asked, "Kak Ya, can you take me to the Cheer Comp?" and I was like, "What???? See first la"....well, my dad and my uncle gave permission for us to go but only after lunch and after we finished helping out, so we (me, Anis, Izuan and Kak Tish) ended up going at 4 o'clock....by the time we reached Bukit Jalil, they were just about to announce the winners....haha....damn cacat, right? So after that, we went back into town and we went to Lotus near KLCC for a drink and just to lepak for a bit. I reached home around 9 that day. Damn tiring.

On Monday and yesterday, I went out shopping with Tish...and even though I have known my dearest cousin for like 17 out of my 18 years of life, she never fails to surprise me. And surprise me she did when I went on a shopping spree with her. On Monday, we went over to Monash cos she had to pay some fees and we went over to Metropolitan cos my dad asked me to check out the fees there. I don't think I want to go there, though. It's a bit spooky. After that, we wanted to go to 1 Utama cause we both haven't stepped into 1U in a long, long time. We were going to take the Federal Highway to 1U from Metropolitan, but we ended up making one huge round around the area and ended up right back at Metropolitan. Tish was pissed cause she was showing the way and thought the road that we took would lead us to the Federal Highway. So we ended up taking the NPE to Bangsar and went to 1U from Bangsar. Best thing was, when we were in the parking lot and I had just parked my car, she realised that she left her ATM card at home and so we had to go back to pick up her ATM card. She was cursing herself all the way back and kept saying "Forever 21, Forever 21...Alia, I need to go to Forever 21!!!!!!!!" and I was like, Okayyyyyy......and some more she kept grabbing my shoulder and shaking me when I was driving!!!!! Nasib baik tak masuk longkang! She found her ATM card at home and since I was too lazy to drive all the way back to 1U, which was like 20 km away, no kidding, we decided to go to either KLCC or Sungei Wang. I told her we could go to 1U on Tuesday. We ended up in Sungei Wang. I bought like 3 tops there but my dear cousin bought 8 tops when she actually needed to buy a dress!!! We took my younger cousin (Tish's brother) Ariff out as well and I pity him cause his sister and I were going mad looking at clothes!!! I mean, in this one shop, there were these nice tops that cost less than RM10 and they do not look cheap at all! It was such a bargain! So after buying all those tops, my cousin decided that if she can't find a dress, at least she wants some new pants...so we went into F.O.S. She went to look for pants, but came back with some new tops and when she asked us, "Nice or not?", Ariff and I replied, "Yeah, nice pants". Damn sarcastic, right? haha. So after that shopping spree, we went back to her house and tried on the new clothes. I felt like such a girl! It was fun!!!

So on Tuesday, our shopping spree continued...I picked her up after her driving lesson and we headed straight to 1U. The 20-minute drive turned out to be a 35-minute drive because I made some wrong turns somewhere along the way. hehe. Our first stop at 1U was Chili's, where we had our lunch...after that we went straight to shop, or rather, I watched her buy stuff. Obviously we haddddd to go into Forever 21 before my dear cousin goes nuts, so she bought a top and she found a dress there, too! (Thank God) I just bought a pair of earrings...which also happened to be my only purchase for the day...I am still living on the little allowance that my parents give me every month, ok? So I still have to save to make sure I have enough money to last me the whole month. So after that we went to lots and lots and lots of other shops....we went to Zara, TopShop, Guess and I can't remember what else....by the time she finished shopping, I have lost count on how many tops she has bought in the past two days. My feet ached like hell, and I think that I did more walking in the past week compared to the past 2 months.

As you can see, I have been a busy bee this past week and as much as I love shopping and driving around town, it was pure bliss getting to stay at home today....so much for lazing around for the whole holiday. I'm busier now than I have been when I was having my exams....haha. I'm damn tired and in dire need of sleep...so au revoir! :D

PS: I'm going out again tomorrow!!!
